The work in Africa involves planting churches in the un-reached Muslim areas along the coast of Tanzania. I believe the Apostle Paul gave us the key. Paul preached a Gospel emphasizing Jesus as Lord and restoring the Church back to it’s purpose of becoming a mission force through the ministry of discipleship. Paul did not hold great crusades, or large evangelism outreaches. He went into regional areas and planted churches and equipped them to reach the region they were in. In Roland Allen’s book “Missionary Methods” he writes, “Many missionaries in later days have received a larger number of coverts than Paul; many have preached over a wider area than he; but none have so established churches.” The Problem is not evangelism methods it is the lack of commitment to training Christians on how to disciple so they can become a mission force to reach the lost. |
