God always has a remnant!

by Steve Gray on 02/02/12

This morning I was reading Paul's statement in Romans 11:5, "Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. As you look around and see so much to be concerned about know that God has a plan. He has always reserved a remnant of people who love and worship him. God is restoring the first love of His bride at this very hour. He is coming back for a "glorious" church, did you get that a glorious church, one without spot or wrinkle. Father let your glory fall on the true church and let us love you. Amen!

Paul's Sorrow and Grief

by Steve Gray on 01/20/12

One of the most amazing passages is Romans 9:1-2, "I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart."

Remember Paul has just written Romans 8:28 & 29, two of the most profound verses in the New Testament. But then He finds himself in grief and sorrow, why? We must see that this Apostle of great revelation is now burdened for his people to know what he knows. Can you imagine Paul's thoughts as he received such revelation in Romans 6-8 and now is burdened for others to know what God has provided us in Christ. But he is grieved because his fellow Israelites do not know of this glorious inheritance nor do they know Christ. This passage only reminds us of the call and responsibility we have to not just share Christ with others but help them to know the glorious riches we have. Father help us to know and share the glorious riches of Christ to others. Amen!

Why did God make you?

by Steve Gray on 01/05/12

Dear Saints,
Have you ever thought about why God made you? Do you ever get down on yourself? Have you ever had a bad day? Think about this for a moment.
God made you with a plan. Paul tells us in Romans 9:23, "that He
might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy,
which He had prepared beforehand for glory," God made you for His
glory, Wow? Amen! You my friend were prepared for God's glory! That is the highest and best any of us will ever attain. Hallelujah !

All Things Work Together for Good!

by Steve Gray on 11/28/11

One of the greatest promises in the Bible is found in Romans 8:28, as we recall the the context of the passage, Paul has been speaking about the revealing of the Sons of God and how our death and choice to set our mind on the Spirit will be a difficult choice. So he reminds us with the verse, "the present suffering will not be worth comparing to the joy that will be revealed." He encourages us with this promise that to those who love God and yield to Him in the calling shall see all things work out for their good. This word, "good", is the Greek "agathos", and means of good constitution or nature. It references the changes in us that God brings for good as we are tested, tried and put through trials. Remember James's words,  "Consider pure joy when you face trials of many kinds." Father let us embrace our lives as you are the author and finisher of our faith and all that you allow will form us into your image. I praise your Holy Name!

Amen

The Revealing of the Sons of God?

by Steve Gray on 11/23/11

Paul goes to great lengths in Romans to encourage us to die to self! Most of the early chapters in Romans deal with the call and command that Christ died so we too must know we have died with Him. We then come to the conclusion of such efforts in Chapter 8, as if to say now what? The passage in Romans 8:14 tells us that the children of God are led by the Spirit of God. Then the next verse tells us that fear is our enemy because fear always desires to cause the children of God to react to false information and not be led by God. But Paul has an interesting antidote to fear. He says remember who you are! You have the Spirit of Adoption and you are an heir! But in verse 17 there are two english words for heir. The first means to inherit property such as when one dies but the second word is a different Greek word and it means to receive gifts jointly because you have unmerited favor. Jesus has provided all we need to follow and live for Him. You see scripture also says the suffering to die is not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed in you. Then verse 19 says, the creation is waiting for the Sons of God to be revealed. Thats you and me as God is  forming His son in each of us. We are encouraged to ignore the suffering that comes when we are dying to self because of the glory that God is bringing forth in our life. Father I repent for not seeing that all that you do is for my spiritual growth and you are faithful to complete the work you have begun. Phil.1:6, Amen.
